意大利科莫米蘭威爾第音樂學院自1982年成立,座落於意大利中部一座15世紀建成、16至17世紀擴展的大樓。校舍曾於1971至1973年經科莫市長時間修葺,2010年改裝一座新管風琴演奏廳。學院與當地大學及藝術學院關係密切,其學生除意大利本土學生外,也來自瑞士、德國、斯洛伐克、保加利 亞、俄羅斯、烏克蘭、西班牙、南韓、中國、墨西哥、伊朗等等。自2009年起,學院成為歐洲音樂學院協會成員之一。
除傳統音樂,學院也從國外請得知名學者教授優質音樂課程:
• 三年初階課程,以最新音樂教學法,裝備學生入行音樂事業;
• 兩年高階課程教導專業器樂及聲樂知識、也有音樂及哲學研究;
• 與意大利及外國知名音樂學院合作及交流;
• 建立意大利地區培訓網絡,連繫樂器及初階音樂教師;
• 開設進階工作坊,深入研究爵士樂、電子音樂、音樂工程及塑造新型音樂。 意大利科莫米蘭威爾第音樂學院的學生多次獲頒當地教育部的音樂 項,也
不時獲意大利國家樂團選拔;學院豁下的器樂及聲樂重奏小組多次獲邀參演意大 利電台的音樂會。
Conservatorio - da via Cigalini The Conservatorio di musica “Giuseppe Verdi” of Como is located in Via Cadorna, in the central area of the town, inside a prestigious building of the 15th Century that received further enlargement in the 16th and the 17th Centuries. Between 1971 and 1973 the city of Como had moved forward an operation of recovery of the building, which had been subjected to a long period of degradation where part of the structure collapsed. In Spring of 2010, after the complete renovation of the new organ hall, it was installed the great three-keyboard organ built by the famous Italian organ builder Gustavo Zanin, Codroipo (Udine).
Nowadays, the Conservatory is a well-established institution in Italy which has close relationships with local universities and artistic institutions. Its students come not only from Italy but from foreign countries such as Switzerland, Germany, Slovak Republic, Albany, Bulgaria, Russia, Moldavia, Ukraine, Spain, South Korea, China, Mexico, Colombia, Salvador, Jordan, Iran. The Conservatory of Como belongs to the European Association of the Conservatory of Music since 2009.
Besides the traditional courses of the old system, the Conservatory offers high qualified courses from renowned-internationally teaching staff:
• three-year academic courses of first level to prepare students for professional careers, and experimental them with up-to-date teaching methodologies;
• two-year academic courses of second level to develop professional skills in instrumental and vocal repertoire, plus musicological and philological research;
• collaboration and exchange with important Italian and foreign Conservatories and institutions;
• implementation of training nets between the institutions of the entire Insubria area for qualifications and updates of both instrumental and basic musical education teachers;
• workshops for advanced research in jazz, electronic music, sound engineering, and for molding new musical professions. The Conservatory of Como constantly and successfully takes part in the Premio Nazionale delle Arti (AFAM prize) under the Ministry of Education; students have been occasionally chosen to the Italian Conservatory National Orchestra. Instrumental and vocal ensembles often got invited to participate to the radiophonic program Conservatori in Concerto, which is produced and broadcasted by Radio Vaticana.
