勛菲爾德國際音樂協會副主席
旅美藝術家黃甦畢業於上海音樂學院和美國南加利福尼亞大學,為著名音樂教育家愛倫諾·勳菲爾德教授的高足。他於1983年首演的大提琴獨奏曲《遺風》被格魯夫大辭典譽為中國的首部先鋒派音樂作品。他的音樂生涯布及美、中、日、老撾諸國,包括在上海之春國際音樂節演奏與上海交響樂團錄製出版德沃夏克大提琴協奏曲唱片、首演葛甘孺的大提琴協奏曲;與美國青年音樂家交響樂團赴中國六大城市作新年音樂會獨奏巡演等。作為中國音樂作品的熱忱推崇者,黃甦在日本東京舉辦《中國當代作曲家作品首演音樂會》、在上海發起《黃甦室內樂作品比賽》。他與桑桐、陳銘志、朱踐耳、劉莊等中國作曲家過往甚密,黃甦灌錄出版的十多張唱片和十多本樂譜中,絕大部分為中國前輩音樂家題贈他的首演首錄新作。其代表作為編曲創作的《紅色經典大提琴》、作曲演奏的《印第安私語》,以及攝影畫冊《美國西部印象》(美國國會圖書館收藏)、《美國留學手冊》(清華大學出版社出版)、《老撾•小城故事多》等作品。黃甦在策劃執導大型國際藝術活動和指導培養留學生的教育工作中也展現了出色的藝術才華,作為有成功的創業者和教育家,黃甦教育培養的學生大多步入柏克利、洛杉磯加大、斯坦福和南加州大學。
近年來黃甦發起的《國際文藝創業青年企業家》計畫, 用其“以藝術形式提升商業格局;用商業模式從事藝術文化”之理念,樹立青少年的企業家精神。在美國、中國、老撾等國家留學實習後創業,成為品學兼優富有創新精神的國際化人才。鑒於他對國際文化經濟交流所作的奉獻,黃甦獲得美國總統、州長的書面褒獎和洛杉磯政府、南加利福尼亞大學頒發的傑出社會貢獻獎。 黃甦現任勳菲爾德國際弦樂協會副主席,並連續五屆擔任香港國際音樂比賽常任評委。
Chinese -American artist Frank Su Huang graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the University of Southern California. He was the pupil of well-known music educator Professor Eleonore Schoenfeld. In 1983, he premiered with a cello solo piece, “Lost Style”. This piece was described by New Grove Music Dictionary as the first Chinese avant-garde composition. His music career involves the United States, China, Japan and Laos. He performed and recorded Dvorak’s Cello Concerto at the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and premiered the Ge Gan Ru’s cello concerto. He also performed in six cities in China as a soloist for the New Year's concert tour with American Youth Debut Orchestra. As a proponent of Chinese music, Frank created "Chinese Contemporary Composer’s Premiere Concert" and "Frank Su Huang Chamber Music Contest" in Japan and China. He published more than a dozen music albums, most of which were premiere Chinese compositions. As a producer, educator and entrepreneur, Frank has created many businesses that have been met with great success. Most of the students taught by Frank advanced to UC Berkeley, UCLA, Stanford University and USC.
Now, Frank has launched the "International Young Entrepreneurship" project to educate the younger generations of Laos and China to study and innovate in the United States. In consideration of Frank’s contributions, the Los Angeles County and the University of Southern California have awarded him with the Outstanding Social Contribution Award. Frank Su Huang is currently the vice president of the Schoenfeld International Music Society, he has been the judging for the Hong Kong International Music Festival for five terms since 2013.
